Teddy Bear Class
3yr Olds - Preschool

Curriculum | Supplies | Birthdays
Welcome to the Teddy Bear Class. My name is Mrs. Janet (Coombs). Mrs. Deborah Singleton and I will be your teachers. We look forward to working with you & your parents here at St. Dominic School.
Curriculum
Our preschool program is designed to develop basic concepts, attitudes, and skills, as well as to capitalize on each child’s propensity to create. The development of your child’s self-esteem and confidence is most important. We will be focusing upon these skills: Socialization, Shape and numeral recognition, Language development, Following directions, Eye-hand coordination, Listening, Small muscle control, Color awareness.
During the first month of school the children will get to know one another and we will establish some school routines and rules. Our readiness activities will mark our entry into the world of colors, and shapes, numbers, and letters. We will sing, paint, color and play.
Please bring two photos of your child, and a small backpack (no wheels). Your child should bring his/her backpack everyday for papers being sent home. We will need a clean change of clothes; don’t forget socks, also, in a zip lock bag. Put your child’s name on the zip lock bag. It will be left in your child’s cubby for the year in case we have any type of accidents.
Other needed materials
For the 2008-9 school year, pre-school supply packets will be organized
by the school, and will be available for sale to students'
families. You may
purchase the supplies during the week of August 4th through August 8th.
Can’t wait to see everyone on September 2nd 2008.
Birthday Celebrations
We enjoy celebrating birthdays together; however we would like to have similar birthday celebrations for all the children.
We celebrate birthdays during morning snack time. The children will make muffins in our classroom. You can supply paper plates and napkins. Please do not ask to bring in a cake or party favors, etc. If you would like, you can donate a book to our class. We will put your child's name and the year in the book.
If you are planning a party outside the school, invitations should be mailed unless all children are invited. We do not want to hurt any child's feelings. We hope you will cooperate with this policy.
Thank-You,
Janet Coombs
